What’s on my mind

4 Feb

It has been awhile, or at least it feels like it has been awhile. I mostly attribute that to lots of things to do, lack of direction, not finding my “blogging voice”, and making new items for my shop.

I was pretty productive today even though the snow was falling and drawing me into a trance like state. While I was finishing some moth orchids, I did have to catch up on Grey’s Anatomy. I finished a lot of other projects and with that I am super excited.

Also, today I made this. It is a macro photo studio, and just what I needed to create the consistent photos that will be essential to leblossoms. So thank you Strobist for creating that tutorial! I look forward to reading more about lighting.

Lately, I have been staying up later and later, my husband has turned me into a true night owl. I’m not sure if I like it or not. I used to be a loving morning person and that is when all the magic happened. It’s 3 am and I am thinking about baking cupcakes to showcase my new products in my mini photo shoot tomorrow. Alas, I don’t have buttermilk, or yogurt or sour cream, so they will have to wait until I trek through the snow to the store tomorrow. I could use vinegar and milk instead of the buttermilk, however I find that when using almond milk (which is all that we have in the house) doesn’t work the same. I will be trying out this recipe from Joy of Baking. I will update you on how it goes, because I am still in search of the perfect vanilla cake recipe.

Moving on, I’m thinking I need to create a list of goals for myself, and leblossoms. In reality, I have so many ideas that I think by trying to create them all, it would be overwhelming and “water down” the business. I think by creating specific goals and creating a focus, I won’t spend time on things that are do not help me achieve the goals I set. I then would get to spend time on things that would help me achieve the goals. Brilliant! If you have any tips/tricks to keeping yourself motivated/on track/creative, please feel free to leave a comment! I would love to hear about what you do!

Until next time!
